Important note

This policy has been drafted in plain English to support launch preparation. It should be reviewed by a qualified legal or data protection adviser before the website launches. It is not legal advice.

Who we are

The Accessible Parenting Network is a parent-led movement working to improve accessibility for disabled parents.

You can contact us about privacy or data protection by emailing hello@accessibleparenting.org.

What information we collect

If you choose to get involved or contact us, we may collect the information you provide, such as:

Disability-related information may be special category data under UK data protection law. You do not have to provide it.

Why we use your information

We use your information to:

Our lawful basis

Where you submit the Get Involved form, we rely on your consent to use the information you provide for the purposes explained on the form.

Where you choose to provide disability-related information, we rely on your explicit consent to use that optional special category information for the stated purpose.

If you sign up for email updates, we will only send those updates where you have given separate consent.

How long we keep information

We will only keep personal information for as long as needed for the purpose it was provided, unless we need to keep it for legal, safeguarding or administrative reasons.

If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we have a legitimate reason to keep a limited record.

Who we share information with

We will not sell your personal information. We may use trusted service providers, such as email, website hosting or form tools, to help us manage enquiries and communications.

If we use a new form, mailing list or analytics provider in future, this policy should be updated before launch.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have rights over your personal information. These may include the right to ask for a copy, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, depending on the circumstances.

You can withdraw consent or ask for your data to be deleted by emailing hello@accessibleparenting.org.

You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children's information

Please do not submit personal information about a child unless it is necessary for your enquiry. If child-related information is needed later, we will handle it carefully and only ask for what is necessary.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the organisation develops, especially if we add new forms, mailing lists, analytics tools or partner systems.
